Sometimes it's nice to step back and drink in what inspires other fellow Bohemians, and to see how The Freedom State and it's love for all things barefoot and fancy free inspires you! Our beloved followers . Bonnie Macleod, one of our long time Freedom girls takes us on a little journey through what she describes as "A Bohemians Paradise" on her recent visit and past visits to TFS showroom.

The Freedom State showroom in Burleigh Heads. I feel as though I'm taken on a journey through a treasure trove of bohemian influenced clothing and accessories, though it doesn't stop there as the store is filled with nooks of treasures where you never know what you might find!
Once, a couple of years ago when I was hunting through the little cave of goodness I stumbled across all kinds of delicious scented candles, an array of feathers and even porcupine quills! They still lie in my favourite vintage Japanese bowl. I love walking into a space and being transported into my own paradise and for me, without necessarily visiting to buy something specific I often leave with with with an eclectic mix of that 'perfect Bohemia'. There is an opportunity to peruse through a surprising mix of beautiful labels, producing stunning designs and you will always find what you are looking for due to this!
The Freedom State The Label has some killer pieces that I'm loving, and I also dig that it's a one stop shop for day-to-night wear and festival get-up with fun sunglasses, jewellery, hats and bags.
It's a store that I visit for the journey, to be taken on a trip through the 70's that I so wish I was born into. Swooning to good music through the beautiful scent of one of the candles burning and admiring the stores presentation whilst perusing the racks of heavenly fabrics. You will almost always see a fresh floral arrangement as you walk in created by the effervescent
Nesst. It's a collaborative space and I take great inspiration from that - and I always leave feeling light headed in creative inspiration.
After packing up my life in Australia I ventured to the USA, bought a camper van and travelled the continent for almost 2.5 years, and of course our little home on wheels turned into what felt like a gypsies den. Here my tidy and tiny little wardrobe was almost all coveted items that I'd collected over the years shopping at TFS - some of which included my favourite black velvet
