SASKWATCH
PLAYING NOW ON THE SHOWROOM IPOD
Don't waste your money on architects, engineers or carpenters to raise your roof! Let the rhythmic exuberance of 9 piece, Melbourne band “Saskwatch” do it for you. Hard to believe this supremely soulful group started off by busking the streets and easy to believe they now step off stages such as Glastonbury, Edinburgh Fringe and Byron Bay Bluesfest, onto our splendoured grass just a matter of weeks ago.
The indelible, unforgettable sounds released from Nkechi Anele's chest and the band's tightly teamed bass, beats and horn combine to emit a raucous, hip swivelling, chest thumping celebration. With experience notches on their belt like sharing the stage with "Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings" and taking up a long term residency at Melbourne bar "Cherry”, it didn't take long for the big band to garner our immeasurable love and appreciation.
The release of their debut album "Leave It All Behind" in 2012, whet our appetites for feel-good, soulful tunes soaked in emotion charged lyricism, soaring vocals and momentous melodies. With the release of their critically lauded 2nd album "Nosedive", the big band continued to woo crowds on their Australian tour where they ended up in our Byron Bay parklands for a much anticipated "Splendour In The Grass" performance. The only thing to meet and match the joyous, triumphant sounds of a live performance by “Saskwatch” were the combined roars, whoops and yelps coming from the bustling crowds heaving against the stage barriers.
